Pomerode is a tourism city, being it cultural, rural, ecologic and shopping, or other. The slogan "The most german city of Brasil" is justified, and has been attracting about 30.000 tourists to the city a year. We must remember however that this cultural identity has only value by its autenticity. The creation of an Immigration Museum would be the way to preserve the city memory and in the same time, to create a new touristic attraction, that would add those already existent, museums Erwin Curt Theichmann, with scupltures, and Museu Pomerano.

The main event of the touristic calendar of the city is Festa Pomerana (Pomerana Festival), realized in January, on the city aniversary, and there are about 30.000 people participating along the 10 days. Created in 1984, Festa Pomerana has attractions such as parades, folk groups and bands presentations, typical germanic dances, beer and typical German cuisine. In sipte of not realizing any event in October, the city receives also a great quantity of visitors this month, due the city being near Blumenau, where Oktoberfest is realized.
